Rachel Goode  is a Classically trained Soprano from Galway, Ireland. Rachel sings a crossover of genres from classical to country.

 

In 2014 Rachel graduated with a First Class Honors,Bachelor of Music degree (specialising in vocal performance) from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in Dublin. Rachel was awarded the Michael McNamara Gold Medal award for the highest recital mark.

She then graduated in July 2018 with distinction from the Masters in Opera Performance course at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, and in July 2019 graduated with distinction from the Postgraduate Diplioma in Advanced professional practice.

At the early age of fifteen Rachel was awarded a scholarship to have part time vocal training with Dr Veronica Dunne at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin. It was here Rachel's love for opera grew!

In Summer 2018 Rachel made her professional Opera role and company debut singing Fortune & Juno in Opera Collective Ireland's production of 'The Return of Ulyesses' by Monteverdi as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival. She then went on to make her role and company debut with Irish National Opera in Winter 2018 singing 'High Priestess' in their production of Verid's 'Aida'.

She made her role and company debut with Welsh National Opera in June 2019 singing the role of 'Sister Catherine' in their production of 'Dead Man Walking' by Jake Heggie.

Rachel has had considerble competition success most recently winning the prestigious Ian Stoutzker Prize at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama which is awarded to a student with outstanding talent & potential.  She also won the "Douglas Rees Memorial Young Opera Singer Of The Year" in May 2019 as part of Milford Haven Music Festival in Wales.
